Friends of Jesus Ministry

OUR START.....

 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

 

In 1988 I made a decision in my life to quit my job and become fully involved in the ministry. I traveled my first year as a tent boy with evangelist Mike Ferree. I wanted to give God my whole life. I remember sitting in meetings when other Evangelist would come by our church and I would just cry asking God to let me do something for him like that. I had a desire, as a young boy to do something for God and a tent boy was a good place to start. I remember Seeing Becky in one of those tent meeting for the first time that first year I started traveling in a tent meeting in Indiana. I thought she was really pretty. She was engaged to another boy at that time, but that was all right because I was engaged too.

 

After the tent season was over that first year, Bro. H. Richard Hall (a prophet of God) asked me if I would travel with him, I prayed about it for three days because I really wanted to travel and preach on my own. I thought I was ready but I had a lot to learn. I traveled with Bro. Hall for almost five years without that time traveling, learning and being under the man of God I would not be where I am today. Many times I felt like leaving or just give up but I thank God and the men who helped me hang in till the time I felt God would let me go.

 

In that time while traveling with Bro. Hall I had seen Becky in the meetings about every six or seven months. She was still engaged to that same guy, but by this time I was looking for a girlfriend. In one of those services that Becky came out to I was nervous because I was wanting to ask Becky to be my girlfriend. So I went to her after the service and I was bold, I asked Becky when she was going to do the right thing and break up with him (the other guy) and go with me. Well about nine months later we got married. We were married for about eight months and began to travel on our own. This is how the Friends of Jesus Ministry got started. We traveled around eighty to ninety thousand miles a year giving our lives to God, preaching and singing the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

 

“Greater love hath no man than this, that man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.” (John 15: 13-14)

 

Now the Lord is blessing our family we had our first set off twins, Whitney Faith and Britney Hope in February 1995 (on Becky’s birthday) You can read their testimony under the “Miracle Page,” Then we had Mikayla in September 1998 and finally I got my boys Luke and Levi (our second set of twins) and they was born in August 2001.

 

Today we work with our local church as one of the assistant Pastors at Souls Refuge Church in Parkersburg, WV. I also work fulltime as a phone tech at our local sprint store.

 

This is the season to give, God gave His only begotten Son, now give to God your whole life in your prayer, reading the bible and going to church. Make up your mind to give God more of your time to God and let him become your best and closest friend.

Train up a child

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

 

As a child I had the right training from my parents. When I was about 3 years old my parents was in a bad marriage and on the road to destruction. My mother was lying in a hospital bed dying when my father calls an old-time preacher he use to work for. That day they called on the name of Jesus and not only did my parents receive salvation, my mother was healed, my father was set free from alcohol and the fell madly in love with Jesus. They started working for the Lord. We started going to church and before long my parents quit their jobs, moved into a remodeled school bus and with 5 other families we started traveling throughout America singing and preaching under a gospel tent. After several years e stopped traveling fulltime and my father ended up having open-heart surgery. Later on my parents started pasturing a church. After high school I traveled with Evangelist Becky (Ferree) Trammell then I meet Rick. We got married and now we are working in the ministry with our family. The training I received as a child has carried me through. It has done me a lot of Good. Don’t give up on your children, keep on training. I’m living proof that it works.
